Saturday 27 February 2021   (-73 Days to go)
As we are all aware the Government Covid 19 restrictions are still in place and likely for the forseeable future.
Therefore it is with regret that we have to advise that the Steve Nicholson Event scheduled over the weekend of the 27th Feb 2021 is being postponed. The Club is naturally disappointed and hope that the event may be able to be rescheduled for later in the year if the calendar permits.

Any individuals who have entered will contacted and refunded their entry fees in due course.

What a day for the Steve Nicholson Memorial Trophy

Saturday 24th January saw Northampton Sailing Club stage the 15th Steve Nicholson Memorial Trophy event in aid of Asthma UK.

The day started with very sunny weather and pleasant winds from the west of force 2-3.The event attracted a capacity entry of 157 boats and this year saw a record number of single handed boats, 89 registered. This being the single largest start the club has hosted in its 60 year history.

Due to low entries of Asymmetric boats a change in the sailing instructions was issued and these were run in the same race as the double handlers which made for 4 races 2 single handed and 2 double.

Winner of the single handed race Will Gulliver, sailing his Phantom, also won the Graham Shemeld memorial trophy awarded to the highest place NSC boat.

Winners of the Double handed fleet were Ian Dobson and Dan Schreiber in their Fireball.

Overall winners of the Steve Nicholson Memorial Trophy  went to Asymmetric sailors Sam and John Knight in their RS400.Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to all the competitors who support the event year on year.

Special thanks to all the Clubs volunteers who made for smooth running of the event.
